Meet Julie
Welcome to Yoga Therapy with Julie. As a yoga therapist my aim is to guide and support individuals in their journey towards improved physical, mental and emotional harmony.
I personally have experienced the benefits of Yoga to restore balance within and this has helped to inform my practice and teachings. I have a passion and energy for Yoga and Yoga Therapy and love to share the knowledge I have with others to aid their journey.
What Is Yoga Therapy
Yoga Therapy is the adaption of Yoga practices for people with Health Challenges.
Yoga Therapists work on an individual’s needs or small groups of populations to assist with specific regiments of postures/movements, Breathing exercises (techniques) and relaxation to suit each need. It is the integration of the mind and body.
Yoga therapists can work independently or alongside other healthcare practitioners.
Styles of yoga offered
Yin Yoga
This is a practice that mainly focuses on the bones, joints and fascia. Because it is slower paced it gives time to attune to the mind, breathing awareness and physical sensations. Ideal for a relaxed, mindful practice. Known for reducing stress levels, boosting circulation. It is quiet a contemplative practice.
Restorative Yoga
To assist in and release into poses with the aid of props without strain or pain, when you hold the poses for extended periods of time it is known for relaxing the nervous system, which can lower the heart rate, improve breathing and increase blood flow to the vital organs.
This practice is appropriate for all levels.
