About Julie

Greetings. Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and to read a little about me. I currently live in America but have previously lived in South Africa and England. I have raised two wonderful children and am the parent of furry companions who brighten every day. My philosophy is to live life to the fullest and I enjoy invigorating pursuits such as walking, kayaking, fishing and cycling. I also lead spin classes and yoga classes within my local community. Currently I am embracing a new venture into the world of Pickleball.

To compliment my physical activities I find balance through reading, painting and immersing myself in learning to develop my practice. When relaxation calls I indulge in a good film or series, often on Netflix.

My yoga journey has been varied and full of experiences that have shaped my own practice and the therapist I have become. My initial encounters of yoga was Iyengar style classes, deeply rooted in alignment principles. Over time my exploration of yoga expanded to encompass Hatha Yoga, Power Yoga, Yoga Dance, gentle and beginners practice. A variation I am yet to explore but would like to is Hot Yoga.

I have been fortunate in that my yoga journey has led to a wealth of insightful and profound experiences including distinguishing between exceptional teachings and lesser ones. These experiences have helped me shape the instructor I am today but I am aware that growth and enlightenment is ongoing.

The underpinning philosophy and psychology of yoga have been largely influential along my yoga journey and have helped enormously through life’s challenges. Harnessing the power of yoga has helped me overcome injury including an unexpected fall from my bike. Breath work ushered in serenity and movement fostered unity with my body, humanity and the world around me. These discoveries have ignited the passion within me to help and guide others irrespective of their abilities. My expertise lie in trauma-informed yoga and healthy aging practices.
